Assignment Instructions/ Description
PLANNING HEALTH PROMOTION PROGRAMS: NEEDS ASSESSMENT
For this component of your SLP, based on the public health topic you selected in Module 1 SLP, please discuss the following:
What behavioral factors influence the problem? Which of these behaviors are more important and which are more amenable to health promotion/ intervention? Which behaviors would you design a program/intervention for based on these considerations? What environmental aspects seem to also affect the health issue you selected?
What are the predisposing, enabling, and reinforcing factors for the health behaviors you identified? Include any environmental influences.
What , resources, and circumstances can facilitate or hinder your proposed program/intervention on the factors you identified?
If you were doing a project in real life, and this would be a comprehensive plan, how would you gather your needs data? What would be your data sources?
Each paragraph should have in-text citations to support your conclusions based upon scholarly evidence. This is required for scholarly writing, especially at the graduate level. Work on using more scholarly evidence in future assignments. Note that any reference cited within the text of your paper must also be cited on a separate References page (and vice versa). Keep in mind that failure to do this is considered plagiarism. It is important that we credit the author(s) whose ideas are being borrowed. Note that even when the directions state describe in your own words references must still be used. This just means instead of using direct quotes in your work, you will paraphrase (i.e., write the information in your own words) while still giving credit to the author(s) whose ideas you borrow by citing appropriately via APA format.
